Bronchial Asthma

BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

What is Bronchial Asthma?

Asthma is a condition in which the airways of the lungs become narrow due to sustained constriction as well as excess mucus secretion that blocks part of the airways.

This prevents air from reaching the innermost parts of the lungs and gives rise to breathlessness, wheezing and cough.

What are the symptoms of Bronchial Asthma?

  1. The most obvious and distressing symptom is breathlessness that is worse on exertion.
  2. Wheezing or whistling sound from the chest. This happens because air tries to pass through the narrowed airways and cannot.
  3. Sense of tightness in the chest.
  4. Cough with thick, white, sticky sputum.
  5. Overwork of the muscles of the chest and neck in a bid to carry out normal breathing

Why does Bronchial Asthma occur?

Asthma can have an allergic or non-allergic basis. The commonest type is the allergic type of Asthma wherein the person has a hypersensitive reaction to certain environmental substances, that normally do not induce asthmatic reactions in other people.

Such environmental triggers can include:

  1. Dust and pollen
  2. Pollutants like smoke and smog
  3. Animal hair, fur and dander
  4. Tobacco smoke

Non-allergic factors that can induce Asthma are:

  1. Emotional stress
  2. Change of weather
  3. Exercise

How does Homeopathy work in Bronchial Asthma?

Homeopathy brings down the hypersensitivity of the individual. The medicines help to reduce the excessive reaction of the airways to any trigger, and bring the immune system to levels of normality. Homeopathic medicines reduce the severity and frequency of attacks and prevent recurrence of the condition even in the presence of the trigger allergen.
